Getting an assessment

NHS Providers

To get an assessment using NHS services, you need to speak to your GP. The provider of the ADHD assessment service is Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Adult ADHD Service, but you will need to be referred to this service.

Norfolk and Waveney Approved Providers on the Adult ADHD Framework

All of these providers can provide ADHD assessments and can prescribe ADHD medication following a positive diagnosis, in addition to undertaking annual reviews for this medication.

There are currently four providers on the Adult ADHD Framework:

CARE – Centre of ADHD Research and Excellence

The Owl Centre

Skylight Psychiatry

Holistic

All four providers will provide:

  • ADHD Assessment.
  • Provider can offer initiation and titration of ADHD medication following assessment and positive diagnosis.
  • Provider will enter in a SCA (Shared Care Agreement) with the patient’s GP.
  • Provider will undertake annual reviews for those on medication.

To be referred to their services, you will need to complete the referral with your GP and then your GP practice will email it to your chosen provider from the list above.

Norfolk and Waveney ICB are not able to assure the clinical quality and safety of providers who are not on this Framework.

Right to Choose Providers

Many adults are waiting a long time for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments from their local NHS healthcare provider and are looking for faster options.

Many have been asking their GP for a referral to an NHS Right to Choose provider. A Right to Choose provider is a provider which has been approved by Norfolk and Waveney ICB to provide an assessment. Approved providers have successfully evidenced that they meet our quality benchmark.
