Contraceptive Counselling and Contraception Provision
Contraception is used to prevent pregnancy, and some methods also provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). There are various types of contraception available, and their effectiveness can vary. Not all methods are suitable for everyone, and your contraceptive needs may change as you move through different stages of life. By understanding the different options, along with their benefits and drawbacks, you can choose a method that meet your needs. Local GP surgeries provide contraceptive counselling and a range of contraception including fitting and removal of coils and implants to women and also provide contraceptive counselling and provision to women needing LARC (long-acting reversible contraception) for non-contraceptive purposes.
