Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) will not routinely commission or fund Rhinophyma Surgery.

This is a progressive skin condition that affects the nose, which becomes red, swollen and bumpy. It is most seen in association with acne rosacea.

Note: Whilst not routinely commissioned, severe cases that do not respond with medical treatment and/or there is evidence of severe nasal airway obstruction, patients may be referred for laser treatment or surgery via an IFR application.

Cases for Individual Funding Consideration

On a case to case basis, patients might be eligible for surgical intervention, in consideration of their exceptionality. The requesting clinician must provide information to support the case for being considered an exception, by submitting an individual funding request.
