Breast Pain Assessment and Care
Breast pain, or mastalgia, can be described as tenderness, throbbing, sharp, stabbing, burning, or a feeling of tightness in the breast tissue. This pain can be constant or occur intermittently, and it can affect men, women, and transgender individuals. If you notice or feel pain or a change in your breast such as a lump, always go and see your GP. He / she will be able to examine you and may refer you for a more detailed examination and assessment of your breast at a specialist breast care unit.
Breast Screening:
All females between 50 and 71 and registered with a GP will be invited for NHS breast screening (mammogram) every three years. These invitations to attend the screening will be sent to the home address you have registered with your GP practice.
